Product Identity

PTZD is a long-range EO/IR positioning camera family for integrators who need more than a conventional speed dome. It supports multiple visible-light resolution and optical zoom combinations, with a selected configuration available as a thermal PTZ camera. Choose the sensor combination, illumination, thermal module and mechanical installation around the target distance, environment and integration platform.

Application Fit

PTZD is suited to coastal and marine observation, port and perimeter security, critical infrastructure, large industrial compounds, forest-fire detection, remote site monitoring, safe-city projects and other long-range security deployments. Use the visible-light configuration for daytime identification and long-distance tracking; select the thermal configuration when smoke, fire-point, human/vehicle classification or night detection is part of the requirement.

  • Quality and support: ISO9001:2015 reference, ONVIF profile references and 2-year hardware warranty

Integration & Installation

Configure PTZD around the target distance, target type, day/night requirement, thermal detection or fire-point requirement, visible-light resolution, optical zoom, laser illumination and optional gyro stabilization. Confirm the selected model's actual weight, dimensions, mounting interface, environmental rating, power budget and support structure before installation; the current datasheet repeats mechanical values across several configurations and should not replace a model-specific installation drawing. Integrate through ONVIF, GB28181, RTSP, SDK or API only when supported by the selected project configuration; confirm the exact VMS/NVR workflow, alarm wiring, audio wiring, MicroSD/NAS recording, grounding and surge protection requirements before quotation.

Product FAQ

Q1What is the primary advantage of the FTD-PTZD dual-spectrum thermal PTZ camera?
We built the FTD-PTZD by integrating a high-resolution visible-light camera and an uncooled thermal sensor on a single heavy-duty pan-tilt head. This dual-spectrum EO/IR camera platform provides 24/7 situational awareness: thermal imaging penetrates smoke, fog, and total darkness for early target detection, while the high-magnification optical channel delivers positive visual identification.
Q2What are the thermal sensor specifications and temperature measurement capabilities?
The FTD-PTZD carries an uncooled VOx microbolometer with 640×512 resolution (12μm pixel pitch, 8–14μm spectral band). Our calibrated thermal engine supports radiometric temperature measurement from -20°C to +550°C, providing automated fire-point detection, industrial overheating alerts, and perimeter intrusion classification.
Q3What visible-light optical zoom configurations are paired with the thermal channel?
For optical identification, we configure the visible channel with continuous optical zoom options including 50x, 68x, and up to 90x optical zoom (plus 16x digital zoom) in 2MP, 4MP, or 8MP resolution. It includes 120dB true WDR, Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), and optical defog for long range thermal camera deployment.
Q4Is the FTD-PTZD thermal PTZ camera suitable for maritime and harsh coastal environments?
Yes. Built for harsh outdoor installations, the FTD-PTZD features an IP66 weatherproof, IK10 vandal-resistant cast-aluminum housing with anti-corrosion protection and TVS 4000V lightning surge immunity. It operates reliably in ports, coastal borders, and offshore industrial sites under severe wind and saline conditions.
Q5What AI video analytics and smart event detection are supported?
The system runs dual-channel intelligent analytics, including line crossing, perimeter area intrusion, fast-moving target alerts, human/vehicle target classification, and specialized thermal threshold alarms for early smoke and wildfire detection.
Q6What are the power supply and operating temperature ratings for FTD-PTZD?
The FTD-PTZD runs on standard industrial 24VAC (±25%) power or high-power IEEE 802.3bt PoE++. Designed for extreme climate deployments, it incorporates internal defrosters and temperature regulation to maintain operation from -40°C to +60°C.
Q7Which VMS platforms and network video protocols are supported by FTD-PTZD?
Compliant with ONVIF Profiles S, T, M, and G, as well as GB28181 and dual-stream RTSP, the FTD-PTZD integrates directly with enterprise VMS software such as Milestone, Genetec, Avigilon, and industrial Network Video Recorders.
Q8What OEM/ODM customization options exist for thermal optics and lens focal lengths?
Fengtaida provides direct-factory engineering support, offering optional thermal lens focal lengths, custom optical payload combinations, specialized mounting brackets, bespoke firmware protocols, and tailored temperature alarm presets for defense and industrial infrastructure.
